What does Christmas mean to you?
More traffic, longer queues, frayed tempers … or a precious time of rest and family celebration, sharing holidays, fun and gifts? For many of us, it is a valuable opportunity for renewal where we take a break from work, reflect on what is important in our lives, and plan for the coming year.
Did you know that the name Santa Claus comes from Saint Nicolas, who took food and gifts to the poor?
May we be blessed with the same heart of generosity to share our resources with those in need. Safety Strategies’ Christmas wish for you, is the fruit of the spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control.
Two simple tips to avoid conflict in stressful situations
- Take a deep breath and count to three as you breathe out – this provides space for you to consider your response, rather than reacting on the spur of the moment.
- Put yourself in the other person’s shoes – empathy literally means ‘feeling into’, giving you a chance to understand the pressures the other person is under, or where he/she is coming from.
Karen, Tim and the staff at Safety Strategies wish you a peaceful Christmas and a calm New Year. We look forward to working with you in 2017 to build confidence, resilience and professionalism for your team.
