I will be out of the Safety Strategies office from 14th September to 1st October, 2014 with limited email and phone contact especially between 19th and 26th September, where I will be in a rural village, without electricity.
For most people, Madagascar conjures up the amusing animated film. In reality, it is one of the poorest countries in the world, where thousands of children are orphaned and live on the street. Predators come around in vans and abduct those children for sex and organs trafficking.
I love running a business and delivering the outcomes my clients ask for. I especially love helping people who have been threatened or assaulted to regain a feeling of confidence and safety in life.
Now I have an incredibly exciting opportunity to travel to Madagascar to do voluntary work with vulnerable women and children. I’m going with a group of professionals including doctors, nurses, accountants and teachers to work with a group called Chosen Servant Ministries who feed the poor and help the poor to feed themselves. Imagine my delight when I found out I have been scheduled to run five self defence classes, as well as teaching English and assisting in the garden!

During my absence, Tim Kitto, Safety Strategies Co-Instructor will be on deck here in Sydney. Tim can be contacted on 0414 266 355 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I look forward to reporting back on how the protection skills were received on my return to Sydney!
